Other Local Volunteering and Community Links

As our cycle routes pass through a variety of different areas, or work brings us into contact with a number of other voluntary groups in a surprising number of different disciplines.

If you are considering Voluntary work there are a large number of opportunities available.  Some of the groups are those we have worked directly with whilst others do voluntary work around our routes and communities they pass through.

Forestry Commission

The Forestry Commission runs volunteering operations throughout the Country and has a section based at Hicks Lodge National Cycle Centre.  For more info, see link below:

Burton Conservation Volunteers

As the link below shows, BCV have an impressive list of projects mainly around Burton but also in South Derbyshire.  They have done a lot of work on the Kingfisher Trail in particular which forms part of NCN54 in Burton.
